Our Origins
The green heart of Italy
Our story is rooted in Umbria, the «green heart of Italy». A singular place, where the beauty of the rural landscape meets historic architecture and craftsmanship. For generations our family has lived and worked in harmony with this land. Moved by a love of where we come from, we want to share the true essence of this way of life: the contemporary luxury of simplicity.
A family tradition
The passion for building and restoration began in the 1960s with Piero Badessi. A valuable expertise passed down to his son Saverio and to his grandsons Gregorio and Gian Marco.
After technical studies, Gregorio built up wide experience in the family firm, running building sites and sales. On qualifying as a licensed estate agent, he specialised in the sale of fine properties across the Umbrian and Tuscan countryside.
How Amenita began
Seeing how many historic houses had lost their link to the land that fed them, Gregorio founded Amenita, from the Latin locus amoenus: a serene and happy place, in perfect harmony with Nature.
The project exists to give back the authentic soul of the podere: an ecosystem that for centuries sustained the families who worked it. Today we read that tradition in a modern key, offering you the chance to live the beauty of the land with none of the management to worry about.

Rediscover the real pleasure of bringing to the table what your own land has grown, cultivated with respect for the environment and for your health
We design, plant and run agricultural areas made to measure, sized to the property and to what you want from it. From the choice of plantings to organic cultivation, through to processing the harvest and bottling it under your own label: Amenita takes care of all of it.
